About the
Conference
Sept 26-27, 2024
Bomfyle Road, Shillong, Meghalaya, India
Literature serves both as a mirror and a window into cultures and the varied lives and life-worlds of cultural communities. The relationship between literature and culture is multifaceted and dynamic, with each influencing and reinforcing the other in more ways than one. The International Conference on Literature, Community and Culture seeks to probe into the multifaceted relationship that exists between literature, community and culture, encompassing both written and oral traditions. The inter-disciplinary topics that are socially relevant, culturally persistent and which aim to provide a platform for the articulation of marginalised voices. While literature provides a space for the expression of one’s unique identity, it also serves as an important medium in bringing people together and in fostering a sense of community and solidarity especially in the context of the contemporary world, which is becoming increasingly hegemonic, divisive and exclusionary.
